Brides-to-be looking for the perfect wedding dress should now be aware that at Paris Couture Fashion Week, fashion trends are starting. During the Couture fashion week, designers know one or two things about wowing when walking down an aisle and often close their runway shows with an amazing bride wearing an even more amazing wedding dress. Haute Couture collections from Fall / Winter 2019/2020 brought tons of new wedding dress trends for brides-to-be just beginning to shop. Here are our favorite trends from the runways of the Couture fashion week and 35 wedding dresses that exemplify them perfectly.
Forget blush and a hint of something blue, all the rainbow colors will be the next big color trend to hit wedding dresses. The runways of the couture were full of multi-colored gowns and we think it is a perfect fit for brides. At quite a few of these high-fashion houses, one trend that has already hit bridal runways was seen— black accents, from slight embroidery to thin belts, and even veils, caught our eyes at Chanel, Giambattista Valli and more.
The next big thing to hit wedding dresses is the layers of exaggerated ruffles — Giambattista Valli, Chanel, and George Chakra gave tons of structure and voluminous shapes to gowns.
While Paris Couture Fashion Week may not be the first place one thinks of when thinking classic and simple, several designers— Vivienne Westwood, Ralph & Russo, Chanel, Dior — have shown that subtlety is painfully chic when done correctly. And Asian influences were seen on Ralph & Russo and Elie Saab’s silk-sticked gowns.
